This is an easy and very attractive route in terms of scenery and viewpoints. However, the elevation gain requires a basic level of fitness and some hiking knowledge to complete it safely.
We start from the car park next to the road, once we reach the intermediate station of the Funicamp, where we will find the 8.9 km marker. We cross the road and, stepping over the roadside safety barrier, descend towards the Roca del Pisó.
We continue towards the climbing wall, which we pass, and then follow a path running parallel to the road and wooden stakes, passing to the right of La Baronia. We cross the road again and follow the rocks marking the old path, now covered with low vegetation that does not block the way but requires caution.
We reach a wide track that leads to the Bordes de Rigoder, where we take the path to the right and pass directly in front of them. After passing Borda Valentí, we turn right and climb parallel to the Llosada river.
Just before reaching a farmhouse, on the left we find the entrance to a path that takes us, with a steep initial climb followed by a gentler final section, to the summit of Cap de Rep. From this point onwards, we will follow yellow trail markers.
We must pay attention when reaching a first meadow (km 2.4), which we cross along its lower side following a faint track. Shortly after, we head steeply uphill across the grass for about 200 metres before turning right (the path is not very visible here).
We then reach another meadow where we will see a signpost that, from here on with no difficulty and following the yellow markers, leads us to the summit. The views over Encamp, Engolasters and Bony de les Neres are outstanding. At the top, there are original wooden benches where we can stop and enjoy the scenery.
