The Les Pardines and Engolasters Lake route is one of the most popular and recommended family excursions in Andorra. Its gentle slope, low difficulty, and natural surroundings make it ideal for enjoying with family or for a mountain biking (MTB) outing suitable for all technical levels. To avoid the climb from Encamp via the Cortals d'Encamp road, this 8.5 km circular route with 55 m of accumulated elevation gain starts at the parking area located at the beginning of the Les Pardines road, accessible from the Cortals d'Encamp road.
Once ready, we can start the route by following the dirt path that will lead us to Engolasters Lake. Along the way, there are several viewpoints with spectacular views of the parish of Encamp, perfect for a break to take in the scenery.
Upon reaching Engolasters Lake, an area specifically designed for family tourism, you'll find dining services and various activities for children. You'll also find the Bike Area of Camp del Serrat.
A highlight is the opportunity to take guided tours organized by the Electricity Museum, which offer insight into the history of the dam—a key infrastructure for Andorra's energy production. This dam, built in 1934 by the Andorran Hydroelectric Forces (FHASA), now known as FEDA, is 178 meters long and features the highest waterfall in the country.
Regarding MTB, there are several marked trails around the lake. We will follow the main one, which circles the entire lake without any technical difficulty, allowing us to fully enjoy this natural setting.
After completing the loop around Engolasters Lake, we will return to the Les Pardines path to get back to the starting point at the parking area of the Cortals zone, concluding this circular route perfect for all audiences.
