Els Cortals – Refugi d'Ensagents – Pic d'Ensagents

This is an easy-to-follow route with no technical difficulty, although it requires good physical fitness to cope with the significant elevation gain and some steep sections. In the final part of the ascent to the summit, people who suffer from vertigo may feel slightly uneasy, although there are no difficult sections and the route is not dangerous if completed with caution.

The starting point is Els Cortals d’Encamp. The trail climbs steadily, with short flat sections that allow hikers to recover. At kilometre 0.7, we will find a junction with a sign indicating the Bosc del Campeà and a signpost directing us straight ahead towards the Ensagents Refuge. We will follow the yellow markings and the signs to the refuge, located at kilometre 4.2, where we will have already completed roughly half of the elevation gain.

Behind the refuge, we will find a signpost to follow. About 100 metres later, there will be another one; at this point, we continue straight ahead, following the pink markings and the numerous cairns that will guide us along the way. We will quickly gain altitude until reaching the ridge, where we turn left to tackle the final section of the route up to Pic d’Ensagents.
