Andorra will host the Games of the Small States of Europe from May 26 to 31. This biennial multi-sport event was first held in 1984. It is the third time Andorra hosts the competition, having done so previously in 1991 and 2005. Now, 20 years after the last occasion, the Principality will once again be at the heart of the Games, with a delegation of between 150 and 180 athletes representing Andorra and around 3,000 participants in total from all the countries involved.
The Games will bring over 1,000 athletes, coaches, officials, delegation leaders and public figures to Andorra. Athletes will compete in 19 different sports, including athletics, basketball, judo, rugby 7s, cycling, shooting, karate, swimming, volleyball, table tennis and tennis. Andorra will welcome eight countries: Malta, Cyprus, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Montenegro and San Marino.
The volleyball (indoor) competition will take place in Encamp.
