  • To commemorate the World Day of Poetry, every year from the Government of Andorra and the Common of Encamp is organized a joint day with different proposals framed in the poetic world

The party hall of the Encamp Sports and Sociocultural Complex will host on March 21 the commemoration of the World Poetry Day. The event is held in collaboration with the Government of Andorra and will feature the show Poets, by Lluís Cartes, which will include a performance by the Bandada Santa Romana. The event will feature a reading of poems by volunteers and Catalan apprentices of the Volunteering for Language, managed by the Linguistic Policy Service, and students of the María Moliner school.
The event will begin at 19.30 h with a welcome by the Chief Consul of Encamp, Laura Mas, and the reading of the poem "XLII", which is part of the poetry collection Horacianas, by Vicent Andrés i Estellés, chosen on the occasion of the celebration of the year Estellés, which commemorates the centenary of the birth of the Valencian poet.
Afterwards, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Mònica Bonell, will address a few words to the audience and the event will begin.

Poem recital
First, there will be the poetry recital by volunteers and Catalan apprentices of the Volunteering for Language program, managed by the Language Policy Service, and students of the María Moliner school. Participants will read poems by Eva Arasa, Montserrat Cobo, Albert R. Feijóo and Morena Generoso, authors awarded in the Miquel Martí i Pol poetry contest, organized by the National Public Library, and volunteer Xavier Zabala will recite a poem of his own.
The students of the school María Moliner, in turn, will recite poems by Nacho Mayo, Arnau P. Orobitg, Selva López, Morena Generoso, Eva Arasa and Teresa Colom, awarded in the Miquel Martí i Pol poetry contest.

Show 'Poets'
The commemoration of World Poetry Day will end with the show Poets, a compilation of poems by authors of different origins and eras that have touched the sensibility of Lluís Cartes. The Andorran musician and composer wanted to music them and eventually turn them into songs. Poems by Charles Baudelaire, Fernando Pessoa, William Shakespeare, Vicent Penya and Mireia Calafell can be heard. On this occasion, he will be accompanied by Oriol Vilella and Albert Freixas, and will appear on stage, in one of the songs, the Santa Romana Flock. An artistic link designed especially for the celebration in Encamp of World Poetry Day.
