Gran Fondo Encamp - el Pas de la Casa

A cycle road race which is part of the Gran Fondo World Tour®

Gran Fondo World Tour is an international race which is held in 21 different countries and has over twenty races planned. Gran Fondo World Championship Encamp and Pas de la Casa is presented by this international event as being one of the principality’s most popular areas to enjoy cycle road racing.

The Encamp and Pas de la Casa Gran Fondo World Championship amateur cycle race covers the three mountain areas to be found in the parish of Encamp and counts towards the Gran Fondo World Tour®.

It is divided into three circuits which include the following three mountain climbs: ‘Beixalís’, ‘Cortals d’Encamp’ and ‘Port d’Envalira’, as well as the timed climb sections combined with neutralised sections, according to the chosen distance.

  • Envalira 103 km: 4 category one mountain climbs (‘Collada de Beixalís’, ‘Coll d’Ordino’, ‘Els Cortals d’Encamp’ and the ‘Port d’Envalira’) over a 103 km circuit with over 3,300 m of combined climb.
  • Beixalís 47 km: 2 category one mountain climbs (‘Collada de Beixalís’, and ‘Els Cortals d’Encamp’) is a circuit that serves to initiate those new to mountain road cycle racing. In this category eBikes and MTBs can participate but do not count towards the Gran Fondo World Championship® junior classification.
  • Cortals 31 km: the climb up to the Cortals d’Encamp passes by Engolasters lake and a short flat section for recuperation purposes. Before the timed section there is a neutralised section. The participation of MTB and Gravel bikes is permitted and an eBike category is available.
The Olympique triathlete Jan Frodeno was the ambassador of the first event.
