Vall del Madriu-Perafita-Claror

Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley named a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In 2004, this valley was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the category of cultural landscape, a privilege shared by only 112 natural sites worldwide.

Located in the south-eastern part of the Principality of Andorra, it includes the parishes of Encamp, Andorra la Vella, Sant Julià de Lòria and Escaldes-Engordany, representing no less than ten percent of the entire country.

Travelling along its twelve kilometers, you will come across several animal and plant species that are very rare or in danger of extinction.

The valley also offers surprises in the shape of its restored shepherd cabins, border walls, and above all, its cobbled path which corresponds to part of the GR7 and GR11 trails.
