Guillem Mill

An old flour mill driven by waterpower, belonging to the Casa Guillem

Right next to the path stands one of Encamp’s most fascinating heritage elements: the old flour mill of Casa Guillem. Dating from between the 16th and 18th centuries, this mill operated using hydraulic power and was essential for flour production.

What’s most remarkable is that it still preserves all its original machinery, an exceptional fact for this kind of construction.

Even today, the wheel located beneath the arch of the main façade continues to turn, reminding us how water has always been a vital source of energy for the village.
